Amsterdam

Amsterdam was amazing, except for the severe bout of food poisoning that kept us inside for about 4 days straight. Anyway, we got over it and luckily we had 2 weeks scheduled there, so we did most of the things on our list regardless. I won't write much because we took it pretty easy and frankly, what happens in Amsterdam should stay in Amsterdam. :)

We stayed in Jordaan, which is a little outside of the center of the city, but not far. One of the best parts about Amsterdam is the quirky little shops. Here's a picture of a custom screenprinting place, and their resident robot collection.

We rented bikes and rode around a lot. I drank more coffee than I should have, and we ate tons of good food. The weather was perfect, too. When we were sick we watched a lot of Dutch Mtv, which tended to yo-yo between hilarious and frightening. Especially the "TEXT ____ to #####" commercials. You can get everything from baby photos (it sounded like the company was called BABY PHOTO HENERATOR) to gay friends. Granted, this was all in Dutch and that is my best guess as to what they were selling.

So here's Matt... and some lizards.

These were actual stones on the sidewalk. Best warning ever.
A few paces later...

We also went to the Van Gogh museum. This isn't it, but it reminded me of it.

Obligatory windmill photo.
Obligatory clog photo.
Gorgeous.
