New Town Centre: Part 3 (maybe?)

Last night I went to Sha Tin to purchase my plane ticket to Phuket. I'm leaving Nov 30 in the morning and I'll be back Dec 4, so I get 5 days on Koh Phi Phi with Matt!
After I bought the ticket, I met up with Sam and Ramon in the mall. Ramon showed us to the mysterious Japanese wing of Sha Tin Town Centre, and we all got fun Japanese food. I ordered takoyaki and the boys got okonomiyaki. When we went to sit down, however, all the tables were taken. This is a pretty common phenomenon here; it seems that there are just too many people for the spaces available, especially on busy nights. People will actually sit down with their shopping bags and reserve tables while they wait for the rest of their party to show up with food. Meanwhile, everyone else hovers and stares. 0_0
We didn't want to stand awkwardly next to someone's table while they finished eating, so we just decided to give up and sit on the floor near the elevator, out of the way. We decided collectively that getting confused looks from everyone walking by was WAY better than waiting until our food got cold, or getting death stares while we ate.
Apparently the plain-clothes staff manager found this behaviour [yes, i'm spelling it that way now] unacceptable, so he came over and squatted down, showed us his ID card, and asked us to please sit down at a table. We told him that no, we didn't actually prefer to sit on the floor, but we were pretty much forced to, given the poor planning of the food court. He insisted that we get up and find somewhere to sit, so I said (half-jokingly), "Look, I'll make a deal with you. If you can find us a table, we'll go sit there. Promise."
So he tried. And failed.
Luckily, by that time we were about done, so we told him we would just leave. I think that made him happy.
